Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between gender role attitudes and sexual myths and to determine individuals' thoughts towards these sexual myths and gender attitudes. Relational screening research was conducted. Gender roles attitude scale and Sexual Myths scale were used in the research. The sample group of the study consists of a total of 304 people, 231 of whom are women and 73 are men. There is a high and negative correlation between Gender Roles Attitude Scale and Sexual Myths Scale (r=-.705, p<0.01) scores. According to the gender variable, sexual myths and gender attitudes show significant differences in their roles. According to the results of the research, a high level of correlation was found between the beliefs of individuals in sexual myths and their attitudes towards gender roles. It is concluded that gender, sexual violence, sexual satisfaction, sexual behavior and sexual orientation dimensions, which are sub-dimensions of the sexual myths scale, predict gender roles. When the average scores of men and women were compared in the results of the sexual myths scale, men got higher scores than women.
