Geological public service: permanent display; access to reserve collections; one curator with duties to Natural Science; identification service; not a NSGSD record centre. Geological collections: c.5,000 specimens; rocks, minerals and fossils (75% of collection), also maps, manuscripts and personalia; condition reasonable; stored in some disorder due to redevelopment, no catalogue available. October 1985. Geological collections: 1,000-5,000 specimens; a few rocks, good general minerals and fossils, also maps; good condition; systematically stored and whole collection recorded.
