Abstract

Ciliated muconodular papillary tumour (CMPT) of the lung (also known as bronchiolar adenoma) is a rare lung lesion, classified by the fifth edition 2021 WHO Classification of tumours as a benign neoplasm. It may mimic a malignant process making CMPT a difficult entity to diagnose in frozen sections or small biopsies. We report a 59-year-old female with a 9 mm nodule in the right lower lobe. Preoperative fine needle aspiration biopsy was considered non-diagnostic, demonstrating prominent mucin with sparse epithelial cells.
