Abstract

Chronic rhinitis in children can be an extremely disabling disorder, interfering not only with daily functioning but also with development of the face and oral cavity, with the psychosocial development of the child, and with learning through alteration in attention span and hearing. Children tend to tolerate symptoms of nasal obstruction a great deal more than do adults. The severity and complications of chronic rhinitis in children should not be underestimated.
