Abstract
Cognitive impairment is one of the complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD),resulted in the risk of acute exacerbation of COPD and reduced some basic activities of daily life abilities of patients.At present the commonly apply to evaluate the level of cognitive function by Mini Mental Status Examination (MMSE),Expansive Scale of Dementia (ESD) and so on.The mechanism of COPD associated cognitive dysfunction may be related to cerebral perfusion reduction,brain essence damaged and hypoxemia-hypercapnia,smoking and so on.Pulmonary rehabilitation program,long term oxygen therapy and appropriate aerobic metabolism activity may be moderate improvement on COPD associated cognitive dysfunction.It should be enhancing to evaluate,screen and treat COPD associated cognitive dysfunction,and early discover and intervene the disease to improve the life quality of patients with COPD in the future.
