Abstract

Diversion of gastric contents away from the duodenum by means of gastrojejunostomy led to increases in Heidenhain pouch secretion in 8 dogs previously subjected to total antrectomy. It is suggested that acid in the duodenum may exert a chronic depressant effect on Heidenhain pouch secretion in the antrectomized dog.
