Abstract
To the Editor. —A cutaneous form of polyarteritis nodosa (PN) seems to be a distinct clinical entity, although its distinction has been debated in dermatology journals by a number of writers. 1-6 The patient to be described in this report had chronic PN localized in the right foot. Despite involvement of most of the foot, there was no evidence of polyarteritis elsewhere. Arteriograms (not heretofore described in cutaneous PN) afforded proof that florid arteritis was most likely confined to a small segment of the arterial system. Report of a Case. —A 36-year-old man was referred for evaluation of tender, red streaks and nodules on the right foot. After their first appearance ten years before, they had come and gone, each episode lasting a few weeks to a month or so with intervals of several months between episodes. Three years before this evaluation, there was simultaneous onset of inflammatory foot nodules
