Abstract

Fanconi's aplastic anaemia is reported in a 7‐year‐old child, in whom the diagnosis was verified by chromosome analysis on peripheral blood. The characteristic chromosome aberrations and their specificity are reviewed. The parents and three sibs of the patient presented normal chromosome patterns. It is mentioned that an increased incidence of leukaemia is demonstrated in patients with Fanconi anaemia, and that, in a number of other disorders with chromosome aberrations, an increased tendency to development of malignancy is seen.
