Abstract

Monosomic lines representing the A and B genomes of ‘Chinese Spring’ were used as female parental forms for the chromosomal localisation of genes controlling purple grain colour. The male parent was a near-isogenic purple derivative of ‘Saratovskaya 29’. The complementary genes Pp2 and Pp1 were located on chromosomes 6A and 7B, respectively.
