Abstract

Cr(VI) is highly toxic and responsible for mutation, cancer and cell damage. Cr is one of the 129 priority pollutants. It has positive potential for bioaccumulation and food chain contamination, extremely toxic if ingested or inhaled. It is a definite human carcinogen when inhaled. Cr(III) is used widely in leather tanning process. In this article it was described how Cr(III) converts toxic Cr(VI).
