Abstract

Abstract A simple procedure is described for improving the reproducibility of two-dimensional papergrams made by the solvent systems: phenol—water followed by butanol—propionic acid—water. The procedure involves control of the water content of the chromatographic paper prior to the addition of solvent. Some effects noted upon the variation of the water content of paper are described for some chromatographic patters of biochemical interest.
