Abstract
Thin-layer chromatography of age resisters for elastomers (phenols and organic phosphites) Sixty-three antioxidants for elastomers (phenols and organic phosphites) have been separated on silica gel thin layers with benzene as developing solvent and N-chloro-2,6-dichloro- p-benzoquinone monoimine in buffered alkaline medium as spray reagent. n-Hexane—benzene (8:1) may also be used to verify the identifications if necessary. The active ingredients of several imprecisely defined products have been identified and the relationships between certain mixtures have been established. Some theoretical correlations between the chemical structure and the R F value have been shown.
