Abstract

Some efficient methods of chromatographic separation of DNP-amino acids on thin layers (250 μ) of powdered cellulose without binder are described. Under the operating conditions used, it is possible to separate all the DNP-amino acids of the ether-soluble and hydracid-soluble groups in the form of well defined spots. The optimum quantity of each DNP-amino acid which can be applied to a plate 20 X 20 (or 30) cm is 3–7 mμmles.
