Abstract

SummaryThe h and m antigenic components of histoplasmin previously described by Heiner have been separated by anion-exchange column chromatography and fraction collection using a phosphate buffer system. The separation of the two antigens was demonstrated by the agar gel, double-diffusion precipitin method. The m antigen was found in earlier fractions at higher pH ranges, and the h was found in later fractions at lower pH ranges. A distinct separation occurred with no detectable overlap. The use of specific antigens should give more reliable experimental and diagnostic results.
