Abstract
The adsorption chromatography of C21 O2-steroids and pregnane-3α, 17α, 20α-triol on the partially esterified carboxylic acid type ion exchange resin Amberlite IRC-50 was described. The elution sequence of non-ketonic C21 O2-steroids and pregnane-3α, 17α, 20α-triol from the column with the eluant composed of methanol, ethanol and water (5: 15: 11 by vol.) wasΔ5-pregnene-3β, 20β-diol, pregnane.3α, 17α, 20α-triol, pregnane-3α, 20α-diol, allopregnene-3β, 20α-diol and allopregnane-3β, 20α-diol and that of of ketonic C21O2-steroids with the eluant composed of methanol, ethanol and water (3: 15: 8 by vol.) was pregnenolone, pregnane-3α-ol-20-one, allopregnane-3β-ol-20-one, allopregnane-3α-ol-20-one, pregranedione, progestrone and allopregnanedione.The recovery from the column was satisfactory.
