Abstract

Three thin-layer chromatographic methods were developed for the separation of the components of bleomycin which allowed direct bioautographic detection. The change in the composition of heat degraded samples of bleomyein was monitored by these methods and by high-performance liquid chromatography. It was found that the microbiological potency estimates of the heated material did not accurately reflect the changes which had occurred during degradation.
