Abstract
This is a study of the feasibility of using chromatographic-desorption systems for preparing calibration gas mixtures containing microscopic amounts of volatile impurities of saturated, aromatic, and halogencontaining compounds. Different ways of preparing calibration gas mixtures are examined and the proposed method is compared with the standard methods. It is shown that the chromatographic-desorption method makes it possible to increase the accuracy with which these calibration gas mixtures can be prepared and also to reduce the overall error in analyzing samples of air when these gas mixtures are used for calibration of gas chromatography equipment.
