Abstract

AbstractThe chromatic temporal frequency response of human vision under the isoluminant condition has been measured psychophysically by using a color‐television monitor. The following results were obtained.(1) Under the superthreshold condition, the chromatic frequency response shows the lowpass filter type pattern.(2) The periphery between 5 to 10 degrees eccentricity is more sensitive than the fovea under 5 Hz.(3) In the fovea, the (y ‐ b) channel has the lower sensitivity similar to a tritan. In the peripheral retina, the (r ‐ g) channel has sensitivity lower than the (y ‐ b) channel similar to a deutan.
