Abstract

The Christiansen filter using three dimensional step lens including spherical lens to achieve wavelength discrimination is analyzed. A systematic design technique based on the Z transform is developed. The synthesis of a desired, prescribed response by properly configuring the lens of the filter is established. Four Christiansen filters centered at 225 nm with a full width at half maximum of 1 nm are discussed in detail.
