Abstract

This essay examines the linkages between pre‐modern Christian millenarian groups and the broader Christian mainstream. By focusing on several fundamental Christian themes, the author aims to show that millenarian thought and behavior, though generally unorthodox and even heretical, retain strong connections to the tenets of the more orthodox Christian traditions which they distort.
