Abstract
The biblical concept of revelation is first of all the act of God, which is seen in the progressive unfolding of his plan of salvation in Christ. In Christianity, the fullness of revelation is not the written word of the New Testament, it is the person of Jesus Christ. Revelation in Christianity is personal and dynamic, it is an invitation to communion. The question of revelation is thus the essential difference between Christianity and non-Christian religions, even though there are some similarities between them. The implications of theology for inter-religious and Christian-Muslim dialogue are far reaching. In Islam, the history of revelation flows into the Quranic revelation, which brings it to a culmination.
