Abstract

Panuveitis and chorioretinitis in infants with Langerhans cell histiocytosis are rare and fundus photographic documentation is lacking in the literature. Case report with fundus photography. The authors report a case of an infant with disseminated Langerhans cell histiocytosis who presented with panuveitis in the right eye and chorioretinitis in left eye. Treatment with chemotherapy led to resolution of chorioretinal lesions; however, the visual prognosis remained guarded because of the macular involvement and amblyopia. The authors recommend examination of infants with Langerhans cell histiocytosis for chorioretinal involvement.
