Foliage extracts from 24 potato varieties were tested for inhibitionin vitro of human blood plasma cholinesterase. The varieties were placed into four categories of relative cholinesterase inhibition. Greatest inhibition was shown by the varieties Antigo. Chippewa, Green Mountain, and Sequoia. An intermediate category of inhibition included Boone, Early Gem, Irish Cobbler, Katahdin, Keswick, Red Warba, Russet Burbank, Russet Sebago, and Sebago. Less inhibitory activity was found in Cherokee, Red LaSoda, Red Pontiac, Tawa, Triumph, and Waseca. Least inhibition was shown by Dazoc, Huron, Osseo, Plymouth, and White Rose.
