Abstract

A theoretical study is presented for alternating magnetic fields in a sphere and a long cylinder; this is extended to frequencies such that differences in diameter and surface conductivity are not distinguished in Forster's method. Optimal conditions for structural testing of the entire cross-section are found to occur in the audiofrequency range. Tables are given for the second derivatives of the real and imaginary components of the Bessel and McDonald functions.
