Abstract

In this critical autoethnography, I highlight memories of sexual repression, liberation, and orientation within the cultural context of a Desi-Brown woman from India. I do so not to further exoticize myself, although that happens inevitably, regardless of what I write, but to demonstrate that such issues cross cultural borders and people in various sexual orientations are often silenced, shamed, and disciplined, leading to various forms of accommodation, resistance, and exploration of liberation.
