Abstract

A method is presented by which chloride transport through the walls of phosphatidylcholine vesicles can be measured using 35Cl NMR and it is used to show that tetrabutylammonium ions mediate chloride transport via an ion pair but that potassium valinomycin mediated chloride transport as an ion pair is negligible.
