Abstract

The reactions between dichloromethylgallane and the silyl sulfides (CH 3) 3SiSR (R = CH 3, C 2H 5, n-C 3H 7, i-C 3H 7, Ph and CH 2Ph) in benzene result in the formation of the hitherto unknown, extremely moisture-sensitive chloro(methyl)(organylthio)gallanes. Reactions of these thiogallanes with the donor compounds N(CH 3) 3 and O(CH 3) 2 are reported. Spectra as well as some physical and chemical properties of the new compounds are given.
