Abstract

In this work, the pre-concentration of phosphate on chitosan–iron(III)–crosslinked (CH–FeIII–CL) was investigated in simulated seawater. The results from the sorption experiments demonstrate the possibility of using CH–FeIII–CL to remove phosphate from seawater. Improved analytical performance for phosphate pre-concentration using the CH–FeIII–CL method was obtained compared to the conventional method. Based on the results, the methods will be applied to analyze river water, seawater, groundwater, and industrial water.
