Abstract

On p. 6451 Kazuo Akagi and co-workers demonstrate that cationic π-conjugated polymers form an interchain helically π-stacked assembly with anionic chiral compounds that is stabilized by both electrostatic and π–π interactions. The assembly hierarchically self-organizes into a spherulite with a circularly polarized blue luminescence. The back cover shows the characteristic optical image, “Maltese Cross pattern” with extinction rings, and the hierarchical structures for the spherulite.
