Abstract

A 35-year-old male presented on the beach, having been stung on the leg by a box jellyfish, whilst swimming at Mission Beach, Qld. Appropriate diagnosis, the use of vinegar and pressure immobilisation bandaging and immediate pain relief helped to provide a positive outcome for this patient. The aim of this discussion paper is to present this case study and a review of the current and recommended assessment and initial management of such envenomation.
