Abstract

We analyze the euclidean lattice formulation of the two-flavor Schwinger model. The lattice reproduces the U(1) A- anomaly of the continuum model, related to topological index theorems. This is shown by a hybrid Monte Carlo calculation of correlation functions of fermion bilinears. For their discussion under the aspects of the anomalous symmetry breaking we relate the representation structure of continuum and lattice symmetry.
