Abstract

The chiral properties of lattice gauge theories at strong coupling are investigated in the action formalism with naive fermions. An exact calculation of 〈 ψ ψ〉 to order 1/ gl = 1/ Ng 2 is presented in the limit of large N for SU( N) and U( N) theories. For any dimension d>2 and for large enough coupling λ, the chiral symmetry spontaneously breaks.
