Abstract

Assuming a high-energy Regge behaviour for the π—constituent-quark scattering amplitude, we point out that it is not appropriate to discuss the Adler-Weisberger relation in the simple chiral quark model. We find large contributions to g A , the axial vector coupling of the constituent quark, of the order O( N c 0) from theenerry region above m p . This is based upon an analysis in terms of finite energy sum rules.
