Abstract
In the example of U(1) gauge group, we discuss a path-integral quantisation of chiral gauge theories off and on the lattice and the various aspects on vector boson and fermion mass generation, on renormalisability and unitarity, and on the lattice doubling problem. Comparison is also made with other lattice approaches.
