Abstract

In the terms of Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, we calculated a response of the electrons of chiral gold nanotubes (AuNTs) to an external alternating magnetic field. The dependences of electromotive force and induction currents on the field amplitude and frequency, as well as on the AuNTs chirality, radius, length, and electronic properties are determined. The chiral AuNTs behave electrically as the coils (inductors) and can be used as the receiving magnetic loop nano-antennas for the x-ray region. In addition, it is possible that they can be used in photothermal cancer therapy.
