Abstract
The mechanism of spontaneous chiral-symmetry breaking with pseudoscalars in a vectorlike unified weak and electromagnetic interaction is examined in detail with the unified group SU(3). The model illustrates a natural way to take into account the small CP violation since only in the Higgs sector can CP invariance be broken spontaneously. A one-loop correction to the zeroth-order symmetry breaking is presented.
