Abstract
In this chapter, we present the integration of the chipless RFID tag and RFID reader presented in the preceding chapters into a system. The implementation constraints in terms of reading range, tag orientation and operating frequency are specified. Specific components of the RFID reader’s digital control section along with the tag ID detection/decoding algorithm are presented. Two chipless RFID systems are tested. First, a proof-of-concept system operating between 2 and 2.5 GHz with a 6-bit tag is tested. Following is the intended UWB chipless RFID system operating between 5 and 10.7 GHz. These tests finalize the system level integration and testing of the chipless RFID system.
