Abstract

The aim of this paper is to clarify the current state of musicological research of academic vocal art in China. Research methodology. The author uses the logic and analytical method and system approaches to analyze current research on a wide range of issues regarding the specific nature of academic vocals in China. Results. The analysis of modern intelligence on its specific character and history enables to distinguish the following leading lines of research: 1. revealing the features of professional vocal academic education — the importance of national traditions, aesthetic ideas of prominent figures of Chinese culture, ideological components; focus on the spiritual development of the singer’s personality; systemic; the importance of influence of foreigners, in particular Russian, Soviet, performers and teachers; 2. understanding of performance issues related to the internationalization of vocal education, the specific features of the Chinese language, the distinction of intonation status in the musical thinking of East and West, the synthesis of academic and national singing, and the formation of Chinese folk-academic singing; 3. forecasting the ways of development of the bel canto national school and overcoming methodological and pedagogical and performing issues; 4. the coverage of a circle of performance receptions caused by the synthesis of folk and academic vocals; intensifying attention to the study of the peculiarities of the performance of prominent Chinese vocalists; 5. creating panoramas of outstanding Chinese bel canto figures.Novelty of this paper is to identify the leading vectors of musicological research specificity and ways of development of Chinese academic vocal art in the systematic unity of performing and pedagogical and methodological aspects.The practical significance is to complement and deepen the ideas on the features of Chinese vocal art, the ways of its development and interrelations with the world art in the context of modern culture.
