Abstract

Abstract Chindia is a portmanteau word that signifies the growing and determining relations between China and India two historic civilizations, two very large populations (and domestic markets), and two expansive economies. This article provides an analysis of what has been called ‘The Most Significant Bilateral Relationship in the World’ to view as a major structural element in the next wave and significant element in Asian globalization. The outcome in the next twenty years will depend on how China and India develop complementarity and reinvent the bilateral relationship whilst avoiding historic border conflicts and negotiating the US Indo-Pacific strategy that aims to constrain China’s development and international influence.
