Abstract

Foxtail millet originated from China, grown in China, India, Eastern Europe, and Western Asia, the main food crop in the world’s arid and semi-arid areas. This article tells China’s foxtail millet trade and current foxtail millet industry development status. It tells China’s current foxtail millet industry status from the aspects of production, circulation, processing, and scientific research based on statistical analysis of the related data from FAO, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Foodstuffs, Native produce & Animal By-Products, and National Bureau of Statistics of China, and finally elaborates the development trend and prospect of China’s foxtail millet industry.
