Abstract

I find it imperative to stress a few things about China, and Southern Africa, published in the May 1976 MR. I wholeheartedly agree with the comments by the editors; however, when I finished reading the article I was left with the impression that something very important was missing, something was not said. About China's role in Angola MR seems to agree with Agostinho Neto: has erred in certain cases, perhaps for a lack of correct analysis. Thus we have seen China support reactionary secessions and coups d'etat. Also in Angola, we see China supporting the reactionary forces created, armed, and financed by the Americans with the aim of impeding Africa's revolutionary path. Thus we see China at the side of the Americans fighting against the only forces of national liberation. This article can also be found at the Monthly Review website, where most recent articles are published in full.Click here to purchase a PDF version of this article at the Monthly Review website.
