Abstract
At the Fifth National People's Congress, Hua Kuo-feng delivered a report on the work of the government which is currently one of the most important CPC documents. It is more than 30,000 words long and is divided into six parts. It would take quite a while to read through such a lengthy article, and it would not be easy to attempt either a brief introduction or an analysis of it. The theme of the report is embodied in the section concerning economic construction, which is the section that draws everyone's attention and receives the quickest coverage in the foreign press. This article is designed as a short commentary on this part.
