Abstract

Media use of upper‐grade elementary school children in a Turkish town was studied. Results indicated that children frequently used television and radio, while newspaper and movie exposure was quite low. Most children considered newspaper and radio “good,” but had mixed feelings toward television and movies. They attended to vast varieties of media content. Most parents approved of their children's radio listening but disapproved of their children's television viewing. Significant relationships existed among media access, use, perception, and parental reaction.
