Abstract
This article examines the types of questions elementary school children asked adult nontraditional workers. Using Sandra Bem's gender schema theory, which incorporates an understanding of cultural transmission with a psychological model of cognitive development, the questions were analyzed to understand the formation of gender schemas in children. The significance of finding tools to observe and record the process of gender schema formation within a sociocultural context is discussed.
