Abstract
Background: More than 1200 Victorian children were investigated by child protection in relation to sexual assault in 2016/2017,1 with police enquires initiated in approximately 9% of cases.2 VFPMS see a small number of children who present on multiple occasions following episodes of sexual assault by different offenders. A better understanding of these complex children and the circumstances surrounding the alleged assaults might improve the trajectory of their lives.
