Abstract

From 1975‐1988, Melinda Greenblatt was the director of the U.S. Committee for UNICEF's Information Center on Children's Cultures in New York. There she oversaw one of the more extensive collections of international children's books, focusing on books from developing countries. In this interview she presents an overview of the current status of children's book production in the developing nations and information about the availability of these books to people in the developed nations who are interested in this body of literature.
