As a society, Americans have been obsessed with food and body shapes. One only needs to turn on the TV, log on to the internet, or listen to the radio to hear, see, and experience the constant barrage of information and advertising directed to parents and children about food, beverages, and clothing. This national obsession seems strangely juxtaposed with the mounting nutritional problems affecting children.
