Abstract
ABSTRACT This article starts with a short analysis of current eco-social crisis and its main impacts on the life conditions of children and adolescents. It then reflects this challenging structural and developmental situation within the scope and frameworks of social work, social pedagogy, and child and youth welfare and introduces newer concepts of eco-social work. After this, spatial approaches of social work are introduced and reflected in regard to their potentials and limits to address eco-social problems. The last chapter then provides first sketches on how eco-social and spatial approaches could be implemented in child and youth welfare to address the current challenges and needs.
