Abstract

AbstractThe present paper considers the development of a new integrated model of care to improve services aimed at addressing the mental health needs of children and young people after increased staffing levels and other initiatives had failed to bring about the necessary improvements in the service. A different approach, focused on a radical redesign of the pathway for referral and treatment, appears to have been successful in ensuring that children and young people receive a more timely and acceptable service.
