Abstract

Purpose: The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends starting finger foods when a child is able to sit up without support and bring their hands or other objects to their mouth. Furthermore, the AAP recommends foods that are 1) soft, 2) easy to swallow, and 3) cut into small pieces.
